No pressure sintered silicon carbide is sintered by pressureless sintering of submicron silicon carbide powder in a vacuum sintering furnace at 2100 °C. Due to its single-phase fine grain structure retaining high strength at high temperatures, the high purity and high density of SSiC products make them very resistant to corrosion, and the excellent surface treatment characteristics make them ideal for applications in the surfaces of mechanical seals, valve, bearings and petroleum, chemical, aerospace, automotive and other fields.
After etching the pressure-free sintered silicon carbide material, the phase diagram of the crystals under a 200x optical microscope shows that the distribution and size of the crystals are uniform, and the size of the largest crystal does not exceed 10 µm.
