NBR Rubber - Nitrile Butadiene Rubber

NBR (nitrile rubber) is the most versatile material for mechanical sealing manufacture.

According to its characteristics, it corresponds to rubber groups 1, 2, 3 according to GOST 8752-79.

O-rings made of NBR rubber have high swelling resistance to benzenes, oils and fats, work at high temperatures - this is the main material for the production of O-rings, they are used in fields with relevant requirements, such as hydraulics, engine building, mechanical engineering, oil industry, apparatus building.

RESISTANT TO:
LACK OF RESISTANCE:
  • aliphatic hydrocarbons, i.e. propane, butane, gasoline, mineral oils (lubricating oil, hydraulic oils of groups H , H - L , H - LP )
  • most mineral oils and greases based on them
  • non-flammable hydraulic fluids such as: HSA , HSB (oil-in-water emulsions) and HSC (polyglycol-water mixtures)
  • mineral oils and lubricants
  • vegetable and animal oils
  • salt solutions at low temperature
  • water up to 60°C
  • wastewater
  • potassium nitrate
  • wine
  • aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, e.g. benzene, trichlorethylene, carbon tetrachloride
  • ethers and polar solvents
  • oils and silicone lubricants
  • hydraulic fluids type HSD (based on polyesters and chlorinated hydrocarbons)
  • glycol-based brake fluids
TEMPERATURE RANGE : -30 °C to +40 °C, short-term up to +60 °C

NBR rubber (or nitriloacrylic rubber) is one of the most commonly used types of rubber in the industry, it has a high resistance to the aliphatic range of hydrocarbon oils and burning substances. There are various classifications of nitrile rubber depending on its manufacturer. The more NBR contains acrylic acid nitrile (AAN), the higher its oil resistance, but the elasticity of NBR at low temperature decreases.

NBR characteristics

NBR has high elasticity and durability, resistance to weathering and aromatic oil. Nitrile rubber can be used down to -30°C, but special grades of NBR can also be used at lower temperatures. The following is a list of NBR characteristics:

  • Nitrile rubber belongs to the group of unsaturated copolymers of acrylonitrile and butadiene.
  • The physical and chemical characteristics of nitrile rubber vary depending on the acrylonitrile polymer composition.
  • Various grades of NBR are available. The higher the content of acrylonitrile, the higher its oil resistance.
  • It has good resistance to combustible fuels and other chemicals.
  • Can withstand a wide range of temperatures.
  • Nitrile rubber is also resistant to aliphatic hydrocarbons (propane, butane, gasoline, mineral oils (lubricating oil, hydraulic oils groups H, H - L, H - LP)
  • It has less resistance to ozone, aromatic hydrocarbons (ARC), keto acid esters, aldehydes.
  • NBR has high elasticity and wear resistance.
  • Nitrile rubber can be used down to -30°C, but special grades of NBR can also be used at lower temperatures.

Application of NBR

NBR synthetic nitrile rubber is the most reliable agent for use in automatic and industrial plants.

In the automotive industry, NBR is used as a material for drainage mechanisms, hoses, pipes, hydraulic sleeves of mechanisms that work with combustible fuels and oil. Also, as a material for mechanical seals, bushings, insulating bushings for wires. With a temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, NBR can be used in automation. This form of synthetic rubber, due to its excellent durability, is suitable for single-use laboratory cleaning and the production of examination gloves.

Use of Industrial NBR

Industrial nitrile rubber is used to make a number of different products:

  • Shaft cover
  • Hydraulic hoses - hoses for water supply
  • Conveyor belt (conveyor belt, conveyor belt, belt conveyor, conveyor belt)
  • Graphics, polygraphy, engraving
  • Hydraulic Collar, Packer for Oil Industry
  • Mechanical seals for all types of laying work (laying pipes, mechanisms, etc.)
  • Injection or transfer into molded products/formed products.
  • Pressing pipes or laying pipelines (tubing).
  • Calendered sheets and plates (car mats, etc., industrial belts)
  • Various sponges
  • Helmets
  • Seals / seals / mechanical seals
  • O-rings - sealing rings
  • Diaphragms for carburetors, fuel pumps: gasoline pumps, fuel pumps, fuel dispenser, oil pump, fuel pump, gasoline pump, gasoline pump, liquid fuel pump)
  • Fuel systems (fuel supply system, fuel supply system)
  • Bowling skittles
  • Roller laying
  • Components with rubber-metal bond
  • Rubber connectors
